Bullet Racing Team was formed in 1995 by a group of specialists that have
jointly merged their expertise. The team's broad experience dates back to their history of
having been actively involved in racing for many years.
Team driver, Taylor Fletcher, caught the racing bug early on at the ripe old age of eight
years old and became involved in karting over the years. Like many aspiring Indy car
drivers, karting provided the basic driving skills which were later honed at the world
famous Skip Barber Racing School. The Skip Barber program has graduated the likes of
Michael Andretti, Jeff Andretti, Paul Newman, Danny Sullivan, and Jeff Gordon, to name a
few. Fletcher's driving skills were also perfected through the Formula Ford, Formula Dodge
open wheel programs as well as the highly esteemed Russell School of High Performance
Driving. He has also participated in the Skip Barber Dodge Program in 1995 and 1996.
Crew Chief, Gary Funkhouser and Technical/Engineering crew Ray Manning, Walt Kiffer, Tom
Ambrose and Stephen Wilson, have a long time association with racing dating back to
running stock cars in the late 50's and Indy cars at the Indianapolis 500 Motor Speedway.
Driver, Taylor Fletcher has participated in the Pro-Formula Mazda Series since 1996, as
well as participating in National and Regional Formula Mazda races. Having numerous top
ten finishes, Fletcher has the most recently completed a 1999 Series as the points leader
for the Southern Pacific Regional Championship Series, encompassing California, Arizona,
and Nevada. The 1999 season also brought about a number of podium finishes for the Bullet
Team, as well as other top 10 finishes in the National Pro Series, which is known for its
highly competitive environment. In years past the team has also finished first in the
Western US Regional SCCA Championship, as well as finishing 11th in the National Formula
Atlantic divisional standings.
The team functions like a Swiss watch in terms of their application of years of experience
in suspension set-up, aerodynamics, and racing in general. This preparatory effort gives
the team the best possible advantage in a spec series such as the Formula Mazda Pro
Series.
