BULLET RACING TEAM DRIVER, TAYLOR FLETCHER, ANNOUNCES SERIES FINISH - 2nd PLACE IN NATIONAL STANDINGS.
Local San Clemente Formula Mazda Race Team Bullet Racing announced that team driver, Taylor Fletcher, received 2nd place honors for the 1998 season standings from the National Auto Sports Association Series headquarters in San Francisco, California. At the awards banquet, Taylor Fletcher was quoted as saying, "We were quite pleased to achieve second place in the overall points due to our limited effort in the series this past year. A great effort was put forth by the team on a number of occasions to make sure that we had the fastest car on the track." The team also reported that Taylor Fletcher received 5th place overall in the California Sports Car Club regional point standing as well as 11th place in the National divisional point standings of the Sports Car Club of America. Crew chief Gary Funkhouser stated, "If we had had the budget to run the entire season, I'm sure our point standings both regionally and nationally would have been significantly higher. We are however pleased with our effort through the 1998 season." The team is currently waiting for the 1999 schedule, which is to be released soon, and will issue this information as soon as it is made public.
